Music, playlists and schedules

Assign or change music in a zone

Choose a playlist or recurring schedule from a zone's Control room and understand when that choice takes effect.

Before you begin

A zone can follow a playlist directly or use one recurring schedule as its automatic source. Choosing either option changes the zone immediately in the dashboard.

If its player is offline, the new choice remains safe and applies when the player reconnects.

You will need

  • Access to the location and zone you want to change.
  • At least one visible playlist or saved schedule.
01

Open the zone's Control room

Open Locations and choose the required zone. Check the zone name, player state, and current music before making a change.

02

Choose music or change music

If the zone has no selection, choose Choose music. If it already has music, choose Change music. Both open the same Select music panel.

03

Choose Playlists or Schedules

Use Playlists for one direct music choice. Use Schedules when the zone should move between planned music blocks across the week.

The playlist tab includes Search playlists so you can narrow a long list by name.

04

Select the row you want to use

Select a playlist or schedule row. There is no separate Apply button: the row itself commits the choice and closes the panel.

A direct playlist pins that playlist and clears an active recurring schedule. A schedule becomes the zone's exclusive recurring source and clears a direct playlist override.

05

Return to automatic music when needed

If a direct playlist is temporarily overriding the normal schedule, choose Back to automatic to clear the pin and let the zone follow its recurring source again.

Confirm it worked

What success looks like

  • The Control room shows the selected playlist or schedule for the correct zone.
  • An online player receives the change; an offline player keeps the pending state until it reconnects.
  • The zone is not showing Music selection is controlled by a Brand Program.

Troubleshooting

Music selection is disabled

The zone may be controlled by a Brand Program. That programming boundary must be changed by someone with the appropriate account control rather than bypassed from the zone.

The player is offline

The dashboard can keep the new selection while the player is offline. It applies when the player reconnects. Confirm the room before restarting a device that may still be playing downloaded music.

The wrong playlist was selected

Use Undo within 30 seconds. If that window has passed, reopen Change music and select the intended source.
